Inlined is an AI autocomplete application for macOS. We believe your writing is deeply personal, and we've built Inlined to respect that. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Our principles

  • Local by default. Text processing happens on your device. We don't see, collect, or store what you type.
  • Collect only what we need. We minimize data collection to what's essential for providing and improving our service.
  • No selling of data. We never sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.

What we collect

Information you provide

  • Account information: Email address when you create an account or start a trial
  • Payment information: Processed by Paddle, our payment provider. We do not store your credit card details
  • Support correspondence: When you contact us for help

Information we do NOT collect

  • The text you type in any application
  • Your autocomplete suggestions or accepted completions
  • Your custom dictionary entries
  • Your correction rules, style preferences, or semantic memories
  • The contents of any files or documents

How we use your data

  • Account management: To manage your subscription, process payments, and provide customer support
  • Service communication: To send important updates about your account, subscription status, or changes to our terms
  • Product updates: To notify you about new features and updates (you can opt out at any time)

Cloud AI providers

If you choose to enable cloud AI models, text context is sent to the third-party API provider you configure (e.g. Groq, Cerebras, Together AI). This is a direct connection between your device and the provider — Inlined does not proxy or store this data. Each provider has their own privacy policy, and we recommend reviewing it before use.

Paddle (payment processing)

We use Paddle as our Merchant of Record for processing payments and managing subscriptions. Paddle may collect payment information, billing address, and other data necessary for transaction processing. Please review Paddle's privacy policy for details on how they handle your payment data.

Data storage

All application data — including your dictionary, learning data, correction rules, and preferences — is stored locally on your Mac in the Application Support directory. This data is never transmitted to our servers or any third party.

Your API keys are stored in macOS Keychain, encrypted by the operating system.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your account and associated data
  • Opt out of marketing communications
  • Export your local application data at any time via the app

Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or within the app. The latest version is always available on this page.
